Easy steps to make the perfect party favors for an under the sea birthday party using the Cricut Maker

Party favors for an under the sea birthday party are easy to decorate and you can get really creative with what you put inside.  You can put candy, toys or even a puzzle! Last year I made mason jar clowns for the twins 1st birthday party and I filled each jar with cheese pops I bought at Costco.  They were a hit!

This year is no exception, I used jam jars to make party favors for the twins Under The Sea birthday party and each jar was filled with chocolate candy and Goldfish. You can't have an Under The Sea themed party and not have Goldfish. You just can't!

While these party favors were made for an Under The Sea themed birthday party, you can easily use them for the ever so popular Mermaid theme as well. I find the decor for both themes to be very similar.

Let me show you how to make these easy party favors for an Under The Sea birthday party using the Cricut Maker.

To make the party favors you will need:

  1. Cricut Maker
  2. Silhouette Printable White Sticker Paper
  3. Cricut Glitter Vinyl – Gold
  4. StrongGrip Transfer Tape
  5. Jam Jars
  6. White Paint
  7. Goldfish
  8. Chocolate Candy – Royal Blue
  9. Chocolate Candy – Light Blue
  10. Measuring Spoon – 2 Teaspoon

STEP ONE : Paint the Jar cover

The Jars I bought for this project came with red covers so I decided to paint them white for a more cohesive look.  The paint I used is in the picture below.

STEP TWO: Fill jar of party favors

Ensure the inside of the jar is clean; I actually washed the jars before using them. Once the jar is good to go, use the measuring spoon to fill each jar with scoops of the candies then scoops of the Goldfish.

STEP THREE: Print Stickers

Create or upload the sticker design in Cricut Design Space. Print the stickers on the White Sticker sheet then Cut using the Cricut Maker. Place a sticker on each lid.  I did not want to waste the sticker paper so I also made smaller ones which were placed on the inside of each lid.

STEP FOUR: Personalize jars

You can personalize the jars with the name of each child attending the party or you can use the name of the birthday boy and/or birthday girl.  I decided to go with the names of my twins and number 2 because the favors were for their 2nd birthday.  Create or upload the names in Cricut Design Space and cut using the glitter vinyl.

STEP FIVE: Transfer vinyl to jars

I used the StrongGrip Transfer tape to transfer the glitter vinyl to each jar.  If you are using glitter vinyl, make life easier on yourself and use StrongGrip Transfer tape!

STEP SIX: ENJOY!
